Chef Kevin's love affair with food began at a very early age. Growing up in rural Jamaica, of humble means, with four siblings and an even larger extended family, he had no shortage of great cooks to serve as inspiration. Sunday dinners were a test of who was the best cook as each child had the opportunity to showcase their skills after several months under the tutelage of “the greats”- mothers and aunts. He saw food as an exciting element that brought families together and he brings this passion for making people happy through his dishes.
After graduating high school where he studied food and nutrition, Kevin went on to study culinary arts and landed his first job at an award winning luxury hotel. He has spent the past twenty one years, honing his skills in various capacities, coming up through the ranks - serving as lead line cook, sous chef in training, sous chef, executive chef and chef de cuisine. Chef Kevin has done the grunt work. He has worked with large and diverse culinary teams, which have helped him build his expertise, communication and leadership skills. His flair, expertise, and work ethics, have also earned him recognition in his field. Chef Kevin creates his own recipes, some of which are influenced by his Caribbean roots.
